The Chesapeake Traditional Sailboat Association (CTSA) was founded in 1977 to foster participation in the preservation and operation of traditional sailing craft.
We are an informal group of classic boat enthusiasts. We loosely define those boats as ones whose basic design is older than 1970. While CTSA was founded to support traditional Chesapeake Bay working boats powered by sail, we now encompass all traditional and classic boats, whether designed for commercial or recreational use. You don’t need to own one to join us–just share our love of them.
We usually hold three or four organized sailing events a year, meet ashore for potluck dinners twice a year, join in some traditional boating events around the Bay, and sail together and raft up once in a while.
